Offering the best in bed and breakfast lodging and hospitality, we invite you to enjoy our signature "warm and friendly" atmosphere. Come; take a step back in time when life was not so fast-paced and hectic.

Reservation Policy
  • Kindly go through our policies on this page and Homestay Information before booking.

  • Please click here for our bank account details for Bank transfer. All cash deposits in the aforesaid account will incur 2% additional bank processing charge.

  • We require 50% advance payment to secure reservation. In case the booking is being made through travel agents, we require 100% advance payment.

  • Balance amount is to be paid at the time of check-in, through cash or card.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
  • Reservation must be cancelled 11 days prior to the planned date of arrival for a full refund.
  • No requests for refund would be entertained for cancellations received within 10 days prior to arrival and the entire amount of booking would be charged as cancellation fees.
  • No-Show: Failure to arrive at the property will be treated as a No-Show and no refund will be given.
  • Early Departures: No refunds will be given for early departures or for shortening the duration of stay.
Arrival and Departure Policy
Check in – From 14:00 (02:00 P.M) till 21:00 (09:00 P.M)& Check out – Before 12:00 (12:00 Noon).

Guests are requested to present proof of identity (a photo ID card issued by the Government Department) at the time of check in. Foreign nationals are to provide Passport and Visa details at the time of check -in & fill up foreigner's registration form as required by the Government.

Child Policy
One child below 7 years of age can be accommodated in parent's room on existing bed without any additional charge.

One further child is charged without an extra bed, on existing beds, or with an extra bed. Maximum of 2 extra beds (roll-away mattress) can be accommodated on additional payment.

No sleeping bags or cots can be brought in to the rooms. Total room occupancy cannot exceed 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children/infants.

Kindly let us know if traveling with children under 7 years of age, to make special arrangements if required.

General Policy
No-Show: Failure to arrive at the property will be treated as a No-Show and no refund will be given.

Early Departures: No refunds will be given for early departures or for shortening the duration of stay.

Lock out & Curfew: There is no lock out period. Curfew time is 11:00 P.M every night except on December 24th and December 31st

Guests of in-house guests: Overnight stay by person(s), apart from the one(s) on whose name the original booking was made, would incur additional charge (with or without extra bed) or as per additional room tariff.

Please do not invite strangers/outsiders into our house/premises.

Any damage/breakage or loss of items resulting out of guest's carelessness will have to be paid in full by the guest.

All disputes subject to Shimla jurisdiction only.

Homestay Information
  • We are located at a distance of 10 Km. from the Shimla Mall Road/ The Lift/ Town Centre. Public bus leaves from right outside our home for the Mall Road every morning & charges Rs.15 per head. For better understanding the neighbourhood and transport options, kindly refer to the Location.
  • Housekeeping/Cleaning, including change of bed linen and bath/hand towels, is done on alternate days between 11:00AM and 01:00 PM. Please maintain the cleanliness of your room in general.
  • Limited room service for changing or replenishing drinking water in the guest room is available. Please call your host on the number mentioned in the guest room for any such request.

  • Simple dinner (vegetarian or lacto-ovo vegetarian) can be prepared at home on prior request of at least 6 hours. The buffet meal consists of rice, one lentil/curry dish, two vegetable dish, home-made curd, chapattis (roti) and dessert. Meals are charged per meal per head.
  • Meals are charged per head on individual basis. Sharing of plate would be charged as per number of persons sharing it individually.
  • Charges for breakfast and other meals, if opted for along with the room, cannot be adjusted towards any other account of rent/meals/sundry etc.

  • Breakfast is served between 08:00 AM and 10:00 AM.

  • Dinner is served between 07:00 PM (19:00) and 08:30 PM (20:30).

  • Meals (lunch & dinner) can also be ordered, between 12:00PM and 08:00 PM, from restaurants as per their actual food menu prices and delivery charges. Last order is taken at 08:00 PM for delivery at home. Delivery time is approximately 2:00 hours.

  • Meals, including breakfast & those ordered from outside, are served in the dining room of the main house. Meals are NOT served in the guest room by house staff. The same cannot be taken to the room by the guests themselves.

  • We do not serve alcohol & meat products. However, we place no restriction on the same being bought in by the guests themselves.

  • Eggs are not served during Navratras – Prayer days (twice a year for 7-10 days, usually in the months of April and October). No meat/egg products can be ordered from outside during that period.

  • Shops of daily requirements such as dairy, grocery, vegetable & fruit shops are in the vicinity. There is a Hindu temple and Tibetan Buddhist monastery within walking distance as well.

  • Smoking is prohibited inside the room/washroom.

  • "Aapoaap" is walk-up premises. There is no elevator.

  • Two room types (Deluxe and Superior) are wheelchair accessible.

  • To maintain the peaceful environment please refrain from loud music or noise from your room.

  • We are a pet friendly accommodation – Hygienic & clean small pets are welcome at our property. Only the Standard Room type is available for guests with pets. We require vaccination record of your pet as a pre-requisite. Adherence to our pet policy is mandatory. The management takes no responsibility of the guest pet(s). Additional charges per day apply.

  • There are 2 pet dogs inside the main house & 3 adopted mutts outside. All dogs are properly vaccinated by Government vets every year.

  • There is a Government veterinary hospital 100 metres from our homestay.

  • The rooms as well as suites & apartments are independent of the main house & hence there is no movement of our pet dogs inside the guest accommodation.

  • All types of Visa, MasterCard and Maestro cards are accepted. We do not accept American Express cards.

  • Our card payment terminals are EMV certified. We accept swipe-and-signature, chip-and-signature as well as chip-and-pin debit & credit cards. There is an ATM/cash dispensing machine nearby as well.

  • Foreign nationals may be charged a foreign currency conversion fee if the card is issued outside India. Please be aware of any such charge before paying with debit/credit card.
  • 2% bank processing charge is levied for all card payments and 10% for PayPal payments. The aforesaid surcharge is added to the bill before final settlement. There is no surcharge on debit cards issued in India.
  • Indian currency notes issued prior to the year 2005 have been taken out of circulation by The Reserve Bank of India and the same are not accepted by us. While taking cash payment, we reserve the right to accept only those notes which have the year of printing marked on them.
  • We do not levy any service charge on the bill amount. Tips are at the sole discretion of the guests and are distributed equally among the staff members.

  • We do not have a waiting/sleeping room. If you are arriving early morning, before the specified check-in time, please confirm the availability of your room with your host.

  • Luggage may be stored in the common room at guest’s own risk.

  • Regular items left behind require you to contact us for return, within India, for a flat fee of Rs. 1,000/-. Larger items & International courier will incur extra charges. Payment needs to be sent before we initiate the courier transfer. Parcel is subject to clearance by the courier company.

  • Access to “Windows 7” based, “Skype” enabled desktop computer with Internet access is available for all in-house guests.

  • The wi-fi speed/ connectivity depends on network and weather conditions. Management cannot be held responsible for any speed/connectivity related issues. Full amount of wifi plan opted for will be charged regardless of internet speed & connectivity.

  • In-house laundry can be done within 36-48 hours, subject to weather conditions. Shoes and soiled clothes are not washed. Laundry done at the risk of the guest. Ironing service is not available. Additional charges apply.

  • Please DO NOT flush down the drain any condoms, sanitary napkins, infant/adult diapers and/or anything made out of non-biodegradable material such as plastic or polythene bags as it leads to choking of sewerage lines.

  • Guests are requested to refrain from washing clothes in the washroom on their own as that leads to choking of the water lines & wastage of water, which is very scarce here. Please help us in conserving water.

  • Please switch off all the electrical appliances when leaving your room unattended, as a safety precaution. The management reserves the right to check the rooms for adherence to this policy.

  • Kindly read the room type, description and inclusions carefully before booking through online/offline travel agents. Facilities & services offered on direct booking may not be available if booked through travel agents, travel portals, tour operators or third party sites.

  • All places of tourist attraction in Shimla, except religious & spiritual places, are likely to be closed on Mondays & public holidays. While making your tour plan, do keep this information in mind.

  • Twin bed refers to two single queen sized beds placed further apart while double bed means one combined large bed. Both types of bedrooms accommodate two persons on existing beds.

  • The measurement of bed size is in “Inches”.

  • Some rooms have an additional bed placed in them for convenience/sitting purpose. Usage of such a bed for sleeping purpose by any additional person would invite an extra charge as described on the tariff page.

  • Eco- friendly roll-up cotton mattress, with sleeping sheet and pillow, provided as an extra bed in rooms.

  • For persons needing ritualistic cleanliness we have a semi-detached twin bedroom (two 72”x36” beds with cotton mattresses). There is a private bathroom meant especially for this bedroom. The washroom is located 10 steps outside the bedroom, although inside the main building, down a private corridor. Room rent is Rs. 600 per person per night on twin sharing basis.

  • Emergency power backup (electricity generator) is available between 06:00 pm to 09:00 pm and between 07:30 am to 09:00am during winter months (December 1st to March 1st) and between 7:30 pm to 09:30 pm during other seasons/months, subject to weather conditions.

  • An energy & fuel surcharge, per hour per room, is applicable for using the power backup service outside the above mentioned timings/months.

  • Kindly refrain from using open flame candle in the rooms. We provide solar power rechargeable emergency lights, on request, in case of power failure.

  • Property has limited desk hours. Please contact prior to arrival regarding arrival time to ensure smooth check-in.

  • Kindly do not invite strangers into our home; Rights of admission reserved.

  • Please let us know in advance, before your arrival, if you require the use of separate kitchen and the type of food you would be cooking in that kitchen. We have separate kitchens for pure vegetarian, vegan, non-vegetarian & Jain-specific cooking. Do tell us if you have any food/spice/nut allergies.

  • Kindly refrain from picking flowers from the garden/pots.

  • Any damage/breakage or loss of items resulting out of guest's carelessness will have to be paid in full by the guest (including the freight and handling charges).

  • We speak as well as understand Hindi, Panjabi and English.

On Spiritual parameters, Aapo Aap gives you total energy of facing the rising sun. In its south west, there is spiritual protection of Maa Tara Devi. The terrace, on which the meditation room is located, has beautiful unobstructed view which is ideally suited for Sadhna. The mediation room with its tapering conical roof lined with wood and having big glass windows on all sides makes it an ideal place for merging individual consciousness in Cosmic Consciousness.

"Aapo Aap" literally means "On Its Own" (Swatah-in Hindi). This name has been inspired by our Guruji's place known as "Dera Aapo Aap" ("Dera" means "Living Abode")
