1. We do not provide room service - There is no intercom/phone in rooms. Meals, including breakfast, lunch & dinner, are served in the dining room of the main house.

2. There is no restaurant - Vegetarian Lunch & Dinner are cooked in the house kitchen on order placed before 10:00 AM and 05:00 PM respectively.

3. There is no elevator/lift - Aapo Aap is a walk-up premises. Access to guest rooms/ dining room/lounge is by staircase or ramp only.

4. Distance to Mall Road is 8 Km by car - 11 Km. by bus and 6.5 Km on foot.

5. Cleaning is available on alternate days. Bath/hand towels and bed linen/pillow covers are changed after every 4 nights.

• Continental Breakfast is served between 08:00 AM and 09:30 AM. Indian breakfast is served between 09:00 AM and 09:30 AM, on prior request. Please submit request for Indian breakfast the evening before.


• Lunch is served between 01:00 PM (13:00) - 02:00 PM (14:00); and Dinner is served between 07:00 PM (19:00) and 08:30 PM (20:30).


• We plan our lunch & dinner menu according to our guest's preferences. Since we cook meals on request, meals ordered but not consumed will be charged at full price. Local produce is used in the kitchen.


• Home-cooked meals are charged per head on individual basis. Sharing of plate would be charged as per number of persons sharing it individually. Meals are charged per meal, per person.


• Food Delivery At Home: Meals (lunch & dinner) can also be ordered, between 12:00PM and 09:00 PM, from restaurants as per their actual food menu prices and delivery charges. Last order is taken at 09:00 PM for delivery at home. Delivery time is approximately 01:00 hour. For any specific requirements, please email/call us beforehand for arrangement.


• We do not prepare and/or serve alcohol & meat products. There is no restriction on the same being bought in by the guests themselves.


• Shops of daily requirements such as dairy, grocery, vegetable & fruit shops are in the vicinity. There is a Hindu temple and Tibetan Buddhist monastery within walking distance (20-30 mins.) as well.


• We use & provide RO/UV treated, purified & filtered water for drinking in guest rooms. The same is used for cooking/tea/coffee making purposes.


• Aapo Aap is a smoke-free property throughout. All rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is prohibited inside the room/washroom/common areas.


• To maintain the peaceful environment please refrain from loud music or noise from your room.


• We have 2 dogs - There are 2 adopted mutts. The dogs are not chained and roam around freely. All dogs are properly vaccinated by Government vets every year.


• The rooms as well as suites & apartments are independent of the main house & hence there is no movement of our pet dogs inside the guest accommodation.


• You may keep the chair and tables outside for sitting purposes on your own but please keep them inside your room before leaving the room unattended.


• We do not levy any mandatory service charge. Tips are at the sole discretion of the guests and are distributed equally among the staff members.


• There is no waiting/sleeping room. If you are arriving early morning, before the specified check-in time, please confirm the availability of your room with your host. Standard check-in time is after 14:00 (02:00 PM).


• Luggage may be stored in the common room at guest's own risk.


• Regular items left behind require you to contact us for return, within India, for a flat fee of Rs. 500/-. Payment needs to be sent before we initiate the courier transfer. Parcel is subject to clearance by the courier company. Larger items & International courier will incur extra charges. We would keep the items with us for a maximum of 7 days.


• The Wi-Fi speed/ connectivity depends on network and weather conditions. Management cannot be held responsible for any speed/connectivity related issues.


• In-house laundry can be done within 36-48 hours, subject to weather conditions. Shoes and soiled clothes are not washed. Laundry done at the risk of the guest. Ironing service is also available. Additional charges apply.


• Please DO NOT flush down the drain any condoms/latex, sanitary napkins, infant/adult diapers and/or anything made out of non-biodegradable material such as plastic, cloth, rubber or polythene bags as it leads to choking of sewerage lines.


• Guests are requested to refrain from washing clothes in the washroom on their own as that leads to choking of the water lines & wastage of water, which is very scarce here. Please help us in conserving water.


• Please switch off all the electrical appliances when leaving your room unattended, as a safety precaution. The management and staff reserves the right to check the rooms & turn off the electrical appliances.


• Kindly read the room type, description and inclusions carefully before booking through online/offline travel agents. Facilities & services offered on direct booking may not be available if booked through travel agents, travel portals, tour operators or third party sites.


• Many places of tourist attraction in Shimla (Monuments, museums, zoo, wildlife sanctuary, aviary, forts etc.) in Shimla are likely to be closed on Mondays & public holidays. While making your tour plan, do keep this information in mind.


• Twin bed refers to two single beds placed further apart while queen bed means one combined large bed. Both types of bedrooms accommodate two persons on existing beds.


• Some rooms have an additional bed placed in them for convenience/sitting purpose. Usage of such a bed for sleeping purpose by any additional person would invite an extra charge .


• The measurement of bed size is in "Inches".


• Low lying wooden bed with cotton mattress, sleeping sheet and pillow is provided as an extra bed in rooms (only one).


• Aapo Aap is not centrally heated. Electric room heaters are provided in the winter months (November - March).


• Electric blankets are provided in every bed during winter months (November - March). Hot water bottle is provided in extra bed.


• Emergency power backup (electricity generator) is available between 06:00 pm to 09:30 pm and between 07:30 am to 09:30am during winter months (November 1st to March 31st) and between 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm during other seasons/months, subject to weather conditions.


• Kindly refrain from using open flame candle in the rooms. We provide solar power rechargeable emergency lights, on request, in case of power failure.


• Property has limited desk hours. Please contact prior to arrival regarding arrival time to ensure smooth check-in.


• Kindly do not invite strangers into our home. Rights of admission reserved.


• Please let us know in advance, before your arrival, if you have any food/spice/nut allergies or dietary restrictions.


• Kindly refrain from picking flowers from the garden/pots.


• Any damage/breakage or loss of items resulting out of guest's carelessness will have to be paid in full by the guest (including the freight and handling charges).
