The Homestay is located in village Sargheen, near Panthaghati, on the outskirts of Shimla to the south. The place lies between National Highway 5 and Major District Road (Himachal State Highway). We are at a distance of 10 Km. from The Lift, Shimla via bus route & 8 Km. via car route. On foot, this distance is reduced to about 6.5 Kms.

A) Public bus leaves from right outside our homestay (next to Sargheen bus stop) for the Mall Road (The Lift) at 09:00 AM & 11:00 A.M every day. It charges Rs.25/- per head for one way transfer.

B) The intercity bus transit at Panthaghati has buses lined up for the Mall every 10 minutes. They charge Rs.15-20/- per person for one way transfer. The last bus to arrive at Panthaghati from the Lift/Mall Road is at 07:00PM.

C)The buses do not have any specific number allotted to them but operate as per route permit assigned. It is best to ask the conductor/driver of the bus if they are stopping at or crossing Panthaghati.

D) Private taxi charges Rs. 400/- to Rs. 600/- from Shimla railway station/bus stand/Mall Road (The Lift) to our house for one side transfer. The rate varies as per the type of vehicle chosen and season.

It takes about 30-40 minutes for the public bus and 20-30 minutes for the private taxi for one side transfer between Mall road & Panthaghati, depending on road, traffic & weather conditions.

** We offer complimentary pickup from Panthaghati Bus Transit between 11 A.M - 8 P.M on advance notice of at-least one hour.

Shops of daily requirements such as dairy items, grocery, vegetable & fruit shops are in the vicinity. There is a Hindu temple and Tibetan (Buddhist) monastery within walking distance as well.

Main area attractions include The TDAC Nyingmapa Monastery, Yangchen Gatselling Tibetan Settlement, Tibetan Handicrafts Centre, Satya Sai Baba Temple in Pujarli (Sarva Dharma Mandir - Temple of all Faiths), Hariharan Udasin Shiva Shakti Mandir and Brahma Kumaris Spiritual Organization for Yoga and Meditation. APG Shimla University, Bells Institute of Management & Technology, HIMURJA, Kasumpti SDA Complex, Himalayan Forest Research Institute (HFRI), Tenzin Hospital, Passport Office, Vodafone, Airtel & Reliance head office and Indian Coffee House are nearby.
